In 1982, on the brink of bankruptcy, Hertha Berlin were mooted to be part of a plan to merge with three other Western clubs; the wonderfully-named Tennis Borussia Berlin, the now defunct 1890 Berlin and SCC Berlin, who have a stunning badge.

The tentative project was negatively referred to as FC Utopia, and was ultimately never realised.
